What Data Can Be Deleted?

Some data may be retained if required by law (e.g., donation records for tax compliance) or for legitimate purposes (e.g., fraud prevention). We will inform you if certain data cannot be deleted.

How to Request Data Deletion

To request the deletion of your personal data, please follow these steps:

  1. Submit a Request:
    • Email us at office@ourfamilyfoundations.org with the subject line “Data Deletion Request.”
    • Include your full name, email address, and any relevant details (e.g., “I used Google login” or “I donated in 2024”) to help us identify your data.
    • Alternatively, use our online contact form and select “Data Deletion Request” as the inquiry type.
  2. Verification:
    • We may ask you to verify your identity to ensure the request is legitimate. This may involve confirming your email or providing additional details.
  3. Processing Timeline:
    • We will acknowledge your request within [5 business days].
    • We aim to complete deletion within 30 days (or 45 days for complex requests), in compliance with applicable laws like GDPR and CCPA.
    • You will receive a confirmation email once your data has been deleted or an explanation if certain data must be retained.

Social Login Data

If you logged in using Facebook or Google:

  • Facebook: To revoke our access, go to your Facebook account > Settings & Privacy > Settings > Apps and Websites, and remove [Your Family Foundation Name]. Then, email us to delete any data we hold.
  • Google: To revoke access, go to your Google account > Security > Your connections to third-party apps & services, and remove [Your Family Foundation Name]. Then, contact us to delete stored data.

What Happens After Deletion?

  • Your personal data will be permanently removed from our active databases, except where retention is required by law.
  • Anonymized data (e.g., aggregated analytics) may remain, as it cannot be linked to you.
  • You may need to re-register or create a new account to use our services in the future.
